Watched "Daddy Day Camp" today with my two boys 5 and 7. The movie is for children under the age of 11. I am glad I took them. We almost didn't go because of the reviews I read prior to going.. We had a great time. The film is funny and lots of clean fun. My advice, go watch it with your kids and you will like it as much as they will.

I expected a typical gross humor movie from the commercials, the type my 10 year old thinks is funny but I roll my eyes at. The first 1/3 of the movie was certainly that. But I was surprised that the rest of the movie had a pretty good story. It was not a new theme - cheaters never win -- but you can't demonstrate that enough to your kids. Plus all the kids in the camp showed teamwork and acceptance of each other which are pretty good themes too. Each used the qualities that made them unique to help the team as a whole. Look, the movie isn't Oscar material but as a mom of 3 boys, I've seen much, much worse.

I think Persons should stop being so unfair when commenting on these movies. Yes may some times the movies aren't all than but still give the actors, producers etc some credit. Great fun for the whole family. Dads Charlie and Phil take over running a summer day camp with absolutely no knowledge of the great outdoors or what they are doing. There are so many jokes in this move, you end up laughing through the entire thing. Whether you saw Daddy Day Care or not, this is really funny and worth checking out.

I am confused. This movie is clearly billed and marketed as a silly little kids movie, meant to entertain kids under 12. It totally delivers on it's billing, and even managed to entertain me--a college educated professional with an advanced degree. My husband, a no-nonsense tax attorney, managed to enjoy it as well, as did our two boys, ages 9 and 12, and our two attorney friends and their five children, ages 6-16. We bought our tickets and entered the theater expecting exactly what we got--a little bit of entertainment that was suitable to the tastes and appropriate for the values of all of our children. I don't understand the rather pompous "reviews" here that seem to completely miss the fact that this is a little kids' movie. Very odd....

It was such a great family film, you would want to buy this on DVD, Video, and Blue Ray all at once. This was a disappointment - see what the critics have said it pretty much fits the bill. This is a movie where you would rent it from the local video store when your cable or satellite goes out for a weekend. You would start to watch it and then about 20 minutes into it - simply turn it off prefering to start at either the TV snow or the blank screen. Donate your $8-10 for the movie price instead to the bum on the street on your way to work. Of course you could opt to go to the movie to sit in the AC - with the heat we have been having - that may be the better reason to go... Sorry - nothing good can be said about the movie from my perspective.

I love coming on here and seeing how rude people are! What kind of world do we live in! Get a grip! The title of this movie is Daddy Day Camp! Hence the fact that it is for children! My 6 year old son absolutely loved it! He sat there laughing and smiling. At one point he couldn't stop laughing and people in the theatre were laughing at him laughing! There was a lot of action and comedy. It is definitely geared towards the younger crowd but not too young. I also had my 4 year old daughter, but she got a little bored after about 45 minutes. There was a great story line. There were words we don't care for and/or allow in our home, such as hate and stupid, but these days it is very difficult ot find a movie without any negatives. There were powerful messages of teamwork and fairness. The ending made me teary. It was a wonderful movie and we recommend it if you have younger (5-10) kids.

Just returned from seeing "Daddy Day Camp" and yes the film is aimed at children under the age of 11. Guess what, That's exactly who I brought (My two sons a 6 and 5 year old) and it was a fun Friday evening. The film is exactly what you would think it should be. One that has just enough plot to hold the attention of a child. A film with good, clean fun. If you enjoyed the 1995 film "HeavyWeights" then take your kids to see this film. Yes, there were some jokes that didn't work for me, but my children were laughing out loud. For me, that was worth every bit of the 25.00 I spent on it. It's no Toy Story, but it is a brainless tale for anyone one that just wants to sit in their seat, stare at the screen and laugh without trying to figure out some complex plot like The Bourne Ultimatum.
